Jane Brown Wells received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from UK in 1974 and a Master of Science in Accounting degree from UK in 1986 when she also received the Peat, Marwick, Mitchell Co. award for the Outstanding Candidate for Master of Science in Accounting. She received her CPA license in 1976 and, prior to joining the faculty at UK, Jane worked at Potter & Company, a regional public accounting firm in Lexington. She is a past president of the Bluegrass Chapter of the Kentucky Society of CPAs and a former member of the Board of Directors of the Kentucky Society of CPAs. In 1989, Jane received her “dream opportunity.” She joined the School of Accountancy at UK as a Special Title faculty member. In addition to teaching, she has been Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Studies at the Gatton College and Director of The Master of Science in Accounting Program in the Von Allmen School of Accountancy. Her teaching interests are in financial accounting and international financial accounting. Jane has received numerous teaching awards at the University of Kentucky, including UK’s Great Teacher Award and teaching awards in the Gatton College and Von Allmen School of Accountancy
